EQUIPMENT

  1. 3 ounce wax coated paper cups.
  2. Tray with 40 cup positions in a 5 row by 8 column configuration.
  3. 20 mL calibrated scoop.

PROCEDURE

  1. Fill the tray with 3 ounce wax coated paper cups.
  2. Label the upper left hand corner of the tray with the set number and number of samples in the set.
  3. Place a level 20 mL scoop of check soil into the first cup.
  4. Starting with the first sample in the set, place a level 20 mL scoop of soil into the second cup.
  5. Continue in the same manner until all the samples in the set have been dipped.
  6. Redip the 10th and 20th sample in each set and place in the last two tray positions.
