REAGENT

  1. Hydrochloric Acid: HCl

PROCEDURE

  1. Weigh 1 g sample into a 150 mL beaker.
  2. Add 2-3 mL deionized water in order to wet the sample.
  3. Add 30 mL concentrated hydrochloric acid.
  4. Cover with a watch glass.
  5. Place on a hot plate and heat until boiling.
  6. Allow to cool and transfer into a 1 liter volumetric flask.
  7. Dilute to volume with deionized water and mix well.
  8. Do an additional 1 to 10 dilution using the Hamilton digital diluter.
  9. Analyze the 1 to 10 dilution on the ICP using the WATER matrix.
